The transition to sustainability has started and is high on the agenda, not only in the political sphere but also and particularly within the business world. There is a growing awareness that responsibility should be taken while consumers become increasingly aware of the impact of their choices. If we want to leave a viable planet to our children and grandchildren, we have no choice but to fully focus on sustainability.
Aucxis embraces the urgency and the importance of the shift to a sustainable future and we are determined to progressively implement the ecological awareness in our business activities.
In 2012, Aucxis initiated the sustainability principle in the company by investing in solar panels and by collecting and using rainwater. In the following years, we have taken concrete actions at different levels to make our business activities more sustainable.
Organisation
Sustainability policy and objectives
We have created a dedicated sustainability team brainstorming on further implementations. Proposals are assessed on feasibility, and after positive evaluation, we take the necessary actions. We track the progress of our sustainability objectives and measure the impact of the measures taken.
Creating involvement
Our sustainability objectives are transparent and are communicated to all our employees. Through repeated awareness-raising and concrete actions, we encourage our team to make sustainable choices.
Facilities
Increasing the energy efficiency
Besides the use of solar panels, we have made some optimisations in the temperature settings and the start and stop times of the heating and ventilation system. Consumption is measured and evaluated. Employees are made aware of standby power consumption of computers, lighting and more.
Utilities, maintenance and waste management
Rainwater is collected and used for the sanitary system. Bottled water is replaced by filtered tap water, still and sparkling! Our cleaning service uses environmentally friendly cleaning products. The separated waste is taken to the recycling center located just around the corner, quick and convenient!
Mobility
Encouraging sustainable transport
We are systematically replacing company vehicles running on fossil fuels by fully electric and hybrid cars. The number of charging points at the company is being expanded for this purpose.
Our Sustainability working group at Aucxis, launches the ‘Pedal & Walk Challenge’. We want our colleagues to have pedalled or walked a total of 2,500 commuting kilometres for two months. Commuting by bicycle is encouraged through the payment of a bicycle allowance and the possibility of bicycle leasing.
By choosing sustainable transportation, we not only reduce our carbon footprint, but also invest in the health and well-being of our employees. We also use carpooling, working from home and virtual meetings to do our part in reducing CO² emissions.
Operations
Suppliers
We try, wherever possible, to purchase from local suppliers. Supplier selection based on sustainability is an important item on the agenda. We will aim to establish sustainable partnerships with suppliers who are also committed to ethical practices, environmental protection and social responsibility.
Software
Wherever feasible, we deploy new software projects and upgrades remotely.

Sustainability at Aucxis is based on the three pillars of the Triple Bottom Line – People, Planet and Profit. We recognise that sustainability is not only about environmental considerations but also about social responsibility and economic viability.
People
Our sustainability policy also includes caring for our employees. We provide flexible work schedules, the possibility of working from home and other arrangements that enhance the work-life balance of our employees, reducing stress and increasing satisfaction.
Planet
Our efforts are focused on reducing our ecological footprint. From energy efficiency to waste management, we strive for practices that protect and preserve the planet for future generations.
Profit
Sustainability goes hand in hand with economic viability. Our sustainability efforts are designed not only to support the planet and people but also to generate long-term value for our company and stakeholders.
