Aucxis partner in InWareDrones research project

Inventory management in warehouses is particularly done manually today, resulting in a labour intensive, time-consuming and error-prone process. In order to increase the process efficiency, automated inventory management systems are more and more needed.

In the imec.icon InWareDrones research project, we aim to demonstrate a completely autonomous drone-based system for an automatic inventory management in large warehouses. The InWareDrones consortium consists of imec, Flanders Make and several authorities in the area of drones, wireless power transfer, mechatronics and automation of inventory management, among which Aucxis. Aucxis’ focus is particularly on the development of light-weight, drone-mountable RFID readers.

The main purpose of the project is to reduce the inventory management costs. By using such an autonomous system, the customer can save hundreds of working hours, reduce the number of incidents and deliver high-quality inventory information at much higher frequencies.

This project is funded by VLAIO (Vlaams Agentschap voor Innoveren en Ondernemen). Please find here more information about the project.
